About The Position

The Wellness Nurse is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who provides direct nursing care to residents with an emphasis on holistic wellness. The role also helps supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by Certified Nursing Assistants. The position is led by the community's Health and Wellness Director (RN). The role is per diem (PRN), with an hourly salary range of $32.00 to $36.00.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and a current LPN license.
Experience working with residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations, and of nursing practices, techniques, and methods applied to resident health and wellness.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, and Excel), and ability to learn new applications.
Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, using fine and gross motor skills, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and smelling.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds; intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents, using proper body mechanics.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of experience in long-term care, assisted living, home health, or a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of all residents.
Assist with training and monitoring medication administration.
Supervise care staff in accordance with current state regulations and community policies.
Maintain clinical quality assurance in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.
Promote the highest degree of service to residents while leading and demonstrating the company's mission.
Conduct thorough resident assessments.
