About The Position

The Wellness Nurse is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who provides direct nursing care to residents, with an emphasis on holistic wellness. The position also helps supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by Certified Nursing Assistants. The role is led by the community’s Health and Wellness Director (RN). The schedule is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with every other weekend required. The position is offered as full-time and part-time. The stated hourly salary range is $37.00–$40.00.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and a current LPN license.
• Experience working with residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations, and of nursing practices, techniques, and methods applied to resident health and wellness.
• Proficiency with computer skills and Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
• Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and smelling.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds; intermittent lifting and supporting of residents is required, using proper body mechanics.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience in long-term care, assisted living, home health, or a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of all residents.
• Assist with training and monitoring medication administration.
• Supervise care staff in accordance with current state regulations and community policies.
• Maintain clinical quality assurance in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.
• Promote the highest degree of service to residents while leading and demonstrating the company’s mission.
• Conduct thorough resident assessments.
