About The Position

Led by the community's Clinical Services Director, the Wellness Nurse is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who provides direct nursing care to residents with an emphasis on holistic wellness. The nurse also helps supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by certified nursing assistants. This full-time position is scheduled for 3–11 p.m. and pays $30.00–$34.00 per hour.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
A current LPN license.
Experience working with residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations and of nursing practices, techniques, and methods applied to resident health and wellness.
Proficiency with computer skills and Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, and Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
Ability to perform job duties that often involve standing, walking, sitting, using fine and gross motor skills, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and smelling.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds; intermittent lifting and supporting of residents is required, using proper body mechanics.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of experience in long-term care, assisted living, home health, or hospital settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of all residents.
Assist with training and monitoring medication administration.
Supervise care staff in accordance with current state regulations and community policies.
Maintain clinical quality assurance in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.
Promote the highest degree of service to residents while leading and demonstrating the company's mission.
Conduct thorough resident assessments.
