About The Position

Champions Healthcare at Willowbrook is seeking a Wellness Director to join their team. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, including assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations. The Wellness Director will administer medications, document patient interactions using EMR/EHR systems, and ensure HIPAA compliance. A key part of the role is leading and supervising nursing staff, delegating tasks, and conducting diagnostic evaluations. The position also requires ensuring strict adherence to infection control practices and educating patients and families on various health topics. Additionally, the Wellness Director will design and implement comprehensive wellness programs focusing on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, including health coaching and facilitating group classes. Collaboration with fitness professionals and monitoring program effectiveness are also essential. The role offers an opportunity for professional growth within the nursing field in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Requirements

Valid LVN license with current state licensure; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as PCC familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology related to medication administration and injections.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including elderly patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease; individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising nursing teams during shifts while ensuring compliance standards and infection control protocols.
Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Experience in acute pain management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to inform clinical decisions.
Administer medications and adherence to safety protocols.
Document all patient interactions accurately utilizing EMR/EHR systems like PCC while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Lead and supervise nursing staff during shifts, delegating tasks effectively to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing and medical imaging procedures when necessary.
Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment.
Educate patients and families on health coaching, medication management, nutrition, and disease processes such as dementia or chronic pain management.
Design and implement comprehensive wellness programs that address physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Conduct assessments to identify individual health needs and tailor programs accordingly.
Provide one-on-one health coaching sessions to educate participants on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes.
Facilitate group classes and workshops on topics such as yoga, weight loss strategies, and motivational interviewing techniques.
Collaborate with fitness trainers and health club staff to create an inclusive environment that supports all wellness initiatives.
Monitor program effectiveness through participant feedback and health outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.
Stay updated on the latest trends in wellness practices to incorporate innovative approaches into programs.
