About The Position

The Greenbush YMCA is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as the branch's Full-Time Wellness Coordinator. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening the Schenectady community. The Wellness Coordinator plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates programs and staff within the Wellness Center. Acts as a department head in the absence of the Director.

Requirements

Two year of previous experience in the wellness field, or related field.
Current CPR, First Aid, AED, and wellness certification (YMCA, AFAA, or ACE) required.
YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

BA/BS in Physical Ed., Recreation, Sports Mgt., or a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs for the Wellness department.
Assists in the supervision of the wellness center, including staff and facilities.
Assists in scheduling of assigned staff.
Provide orientation and training to newly hired staff.
Provide program assistance to all members, and staff, including assistance with staff trainings.
Assist with maintenance and ensuring all staff are assisting with cleaning activities.
Regularly inventory all Wellness equipment and make recommendations for new equipment, as necessary.
Promote the utilization and effectiveness of the Wellness Center and its equipment to all participants.
Assist in the interviewing, hiring, and evaluation of all new wellness staff.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and program participants connect with each other and the CDYMCA.
Follows CDYMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations (weather, closings, etc.).
