YMCA Reston - Wellness Coach
About The Position
The YMCA Reston Wellness Coach provides fitness program advice and assistance to members. The role involves demonstrating the proper use of fitness equipment and providing members with basic workout programs for all machines. The coach supports members throughout their healthy living journey and encourages participation in other YMCA wellness services. This position works Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., plus weekends. The stated salary is $12.41 per hour. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is listed as an ideal qualification.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED qualifications.
- Outgoing personality and ability to relate well to members.
- Team-player approach and willingness to help in other areas as required.
- Ability to bend, sit, stand, or pick up at least 35 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- BA/BS in exercise science or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Explain the benefits of working out and orient and motivate members to participate in additional wellness services, including equipment orientation, Fitlinxx or Fitness Advisor processes, fitness evaluations, personal training, group exercise classes, and wellness socials.
- Identify potentially dangerous situations and respond proactively whenever possible.
- Provide members with information about the YMCA mission, group exercise schedule, and branch services.
- Support members throughout all stages of their healthy living journey.
- Help in other areas as required and incorporate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
