About The Position
Contech is seeking a Welder to join its plant in Topeka, Kansas. In this role, you will contribute to essential infrastructure projects, including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management. The position involves interpreting welding documentation, laying out and assembling materials, and performing precision cutting and welding while following safety protocols. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG and stick welding.
- Ability to work with precision instruments.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Technical training or welding experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate welding.
- Use templates, patterns, scribes, and similar tools to mark and lay out material.
- Align and assemble products for welding using cranes, lever hoists, chains, and related equipment.
- Use a cutting or plasma torch to burn to a precision layout.
- Adhere to safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
