About The Position

Contech is seeking a Welder to join its Topeka, Kansas plant. The role contributes to essential infrastructure, including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management. Welders read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures; mark and lay out materials; align and assemble products for welding; and use cutting or plasma torches to cut to a precision layout. The position follows safety protocols and offers hands-on training, continuous learning, and opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG and Stick welding.
• Ability to work with precision instruments.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Technical training or welding experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate welding.
• Use templates, patterns, scribes, and similar tools to mark and lay out material.
• Align and assemble products for welding using equipment such as cranes, lever hoists, and chains.
• Use a cutting or plasma torch to burn material to a precision layout.
• Adhere to safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
