About The Position
The Plaistow Community YMCA is seeking an energetic, personable part-time Welcome Center Concierge to join its Member Services team in Plaistow, New Hampshire. In this front-facing role, the concierge is often the first person members and guests encounter and provides information, connection, and support. The role involves welcoming people, assisting with questions and check-ins, promoting YMCA programs and memberships, and helping members connect with services that support their goals. The position also assists with locker room checks and responds to member needs or emergencies when needed. The YMCA seeks someone who can represent its mission of inclusion, wellness, and community while working effectively with a diverse membership in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliability, an upbeat attitude, and willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
Responsibilities
- Greet members and guests warmly and help them feel welcome.
- Answer questions, provide facility tours, and promote YMCA programs and memberships.
- Build relationships with members and connect them to services that support their goals.
- Handle member check-ins, update member information, and respond to inquiries professionally.
- Assist with locker room checks and respond to member needs or emergencies when needed.
- Represent the YMCA’s mission of inclusion, wellness, and community.
