About The Position
Kids Club Staff at the Plaistow YMCA engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, play, and social growth. Activities may include games, crafts, story time, and interactive play. Staff help create a fun, safe, welcoming, positive, and nurturing space where children feel supported and included while their parents use YMCA facilities. This is a part-time position with varied shifts, including evening hours from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and additional shifts.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Previous experience working with children or youth is preferred.
- Experience supervising children in childcare, play, or structured settings.
- Understanding of child development from infants through elementary age.
- Strong communication skills and a caring, compassionate approach.
- Creativity and energy to keep children engaged.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected situations, both physically and mentally.
