About The Position
Directed is seeking an independent contractor to install and retrieve temporary weekend signs in the Everstead community in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Signs must be installed between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM, then picked up between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM. Work can be completed at any time within those windows, provided all signs are placed and removed by the applicable deadlines. The signs are lightweight corrugated plastic mounted on wooden stakes; Directed provides the signs, stakes, and replacement inventory as needed. Contractors use Directed’s mobile application to report sign installations and pickups, safely store signs and extra stakes during the week, submit a weekly invoice, and order replacement inventory through the company website. Starting compensation is $104.50 per weekend, paid by direct deposit every two weeks. The role also offers a $20 signing bonus and a $100 bonus after four weeks of completed work. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not employment with Directed. Contractors are responsible for their own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance, and provide their own vehicle and mobile device. They determine their driving order and may accept or decline routes, but must complete any route they accept within the required time windows. No benefits, minimum hours, or employment guarantees are offered. The recurring weekend work may suit people seeking flexible supplemental income.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Have a reliable vehicle with enough space to transport 30 or more signs.
- Have an Android or iPhone smartphone, roughly four years old or newer, capable of running the mobile application.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Be able to hammer stakes 6–8 inches into the ground during the first weekend only.
- Be dependable and able to complete routes within the required time windows each weekend.
- Provide and pay for personal vehicle, mobile device, fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance.
