Weekend Sign Installer - Lexington, NC
About The Position
Directed is seeking an independent contractor to place and pick up temporary weekend signs in the Linwood Estates community in the Lexington, NC area. Contractors install signs between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM, then pick up those same signs between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM. Work may be performed at any time within the specified windows, provided all signs are placed and removed by the stated deadlines. The signs are lightweight corrugated plastic installed on wooden stakes. Directed provides the signs, stakes, and replacement inventory as needed. Contractors use Directed’s mobile application to report completed installations and pickups, safely store signs and extra stakes during the week, submit a weekly invoice, and order replacement inventory through the website. This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Contractors are not employees of Directed and are responsible for their own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance. They choose their driving order, provide their own vehicle and mobile device, and may accept or decline routes, but must complete routes they commit to. No benefits, minimum hours, or employment guarantees are offered. The work is recurring each weekend and may suit people seeking flexible supplemental income.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Have a reliable vehicle with enough space to transport 30 or more signs.
- Have an Android or iPhone smartphone, roughly four years old or newer, capable of running the mobile app.
- Be able to lift and place signs and work outdoors.
- Be able to hammer stakes 6–8 inches into the ground during the first weekend only.
- Be dependable and complete routes within the required time windows each weekend.
- Provide and maintain your own vehicle and mobile device.
- Be responsible for your own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance as an independent contractor.
Responsibilities
- Use Directed’s mobile application to report sign installations and pickups at specific locations.
- Install signs every weekend between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM.
- Pick up the same signs between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM.
- Store signs and extra stakes safely during the week.
- Submit a weekly invoice and order replacement inventory through the website after completing pickup.
- Complete any route accepted within the required placement and pickup windows.
Benefits
- $171.75 starting compensation per weekend.
