Weekend Sign Installer - Pittsboro, NC
About The Position
Directed is seeking an independent contractor to install and pick up temporary weekend signs in the Corbett Landing community in the Pittsboro, North Carolina area. Sign installation must take place between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM. The same signs must be picked up between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM. Work may be completed at any time within these windows, provided the deadlines are met. The signs are lightweight corrugated plastic mounted on wooden stakes. Directed provides the signs, stakes, and replacement inventory as needed. Contractors use their own vehicle and smartphone, determine their own driving order, and safely store the signs and extra stakes during the week. They report installations and pickups through Directed’s mobile application, and submit a weekly invoice and order replacement inventory through the company website. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not employment with Directed. Contractors are responsible for their own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance. There are no benefits, minimum hours, or employment guarantees. Contractors may accept or decline routes, but must complete routes they commit to. The work is recurring each weekend and is described as flexible supplemental income. Starting compensation is $85.25 per weekend, paid by direct deposit every two weeks, with a $20 signing bonus and a $100 bonus after four weeks of completed work. Additional work may be offered as it becomes available.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Have a reliable vehicle with enough space to transport 30 or more signs.
- Have an Android or iPhone smartphone, roughly four years old or newer, capable of running the company’s mobile application.
- Be able to lift and place signs and work outdoors.
- Be able to hammer stakes 6–8 inches into the ground during the first weekend only.
- Be dependable and able to complete routes within the required time windows each weekend.
- Provide own vehicle and mobile device and cover own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance.
Responsibilities
