About The Position

Directed is seeking an independent contractor to install and pick up temporary weekend signs in the Lakeland, Florida area, serving the Magnolia Estates and Touchstone communities. Contractors install signs between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM, then pick up the same signs between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM. Work can be performed at any time within these windows, provided all placement and pickup deadlines are met. The signs are lightweight corrugated plastic mounted on wooden stakes. Directed provides the signs, stakes, and replacement inventory as needed. Contractors use Directed's mobile application to report sign installation and pickup at specified locations, safely store signs and extra stakes during the week, and submit a weekly invoice and order replacement inventory through the website after pickup. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not employment with Directed. Contractors provide their own vehicle and mobile device and are responsible for fuel, other expenses, taxes, and insurance. They choose their driving order and may accept or decline routes, but must complete any route they commit to. There are no benefits, minimum hours, or employment guarantees. Starting compensation is $135 per weekend, paid by direct deposit every two weeks. The posting also offers a $20 signing bonus and a $100 bonus after four weeks of completed work. Additional routes may become available.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
At least 18 years old.
Reliable vehicle with enough space to transport 30 or more signs.
Smartphone (Android or iPhone), roughly four years old or newer, capable of running the mobile app.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to hammer stakes 6–8 inches into the ground during the first weekend only.
Dependability and ability to complete routes within the required time windows each weekend.
Contractors are responsible for their own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance, and provide their own vehicle and mobile device.

Responsibilities

Install signs every weekend between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM.

Safely store signs and extra stakes during the week.
