Weekend Sign Installer - Gainesville, FL
About The Position
Directed is seeking an independent contractor to install and pick up temporary weekend signs in the Oakhaven Walk community in the Gainesville, Florida area. Signs must be installed between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM, then picked up between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM. Work may be completed at any time within these windows, provided the deadlines are met. The signs are lightweight corrugated plastic mounted on wooden stakes. Directed provides the signs and stakes, including replacement inventory as needed. The contractor uses Directed’s mobile application to report sign installation and pickup at designated locations, stores signs and extra stakes safely during the week, and submits a weekly invoice and orders replacement inventory through the company website after pickup. Contractors choose their driving order and supply their own vehicle and mobile device. They are responsible for fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance, and may accept or decline routes, but must complete any route they accept. This is recurring weekend work with flexible timing within the required placement and pickup windows; no benefits, minimum hours, or employment guarantees are offered. Starting compensation is $82.50 per weekend, paid by direct deposit every two weeks. The posting also offers a $20 signing bonus and a $100 bonus after four weeks of completed work. The stated starting pay is for the work currently available in this location; additional work may be offered as it becomes available.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- At least 18 years old.
- Reliable vehicle with enough space to transport 30 or more signs.
- Android or iPhone smartphone, roughly four years old or newer, capable of running the company’s mobile application.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to hammer stakes 6–8 inches into the ground during the first weekend only.
- Dependability and ability to complete routes within the required time windows each weekend.
- Contractor supplies their own vehicle and mobile device and is responsible for fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance.
