About The Position

The Weekend Cook works Saturdays and Sundays in a scratch-based kitchen to provide residents with a high-quality dining experience. The cook prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner as scheduled, making sure meals are safely cooked, visually appealing, and portioned according to resident preferences. The role also involves building positive relationships with residents, guests, and team members to foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Able to work every Saturday and Sunday, at least 8 hours per day.
Able to read, speak, and understand basic English.
Able to obtain appropriate food handler permits required by local ordinances within two weeks of the first day of employment.

Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present appealing dishes using a variety of proteins and vegetables and methods such as broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing.
Contribute ideas during meetings, remain receptive to feedback, and maintain attentive coverage of the service line during meal hours.
Complete assigned opening and closing tasks, including morning setup and end-of-day shutdown, and support shared team duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
Keep stations stocked and organized, maintain adequate food supplies, refresh pantry items for freshness and appearance, and monitor refrigeration as needed.
Clean work areas and equipment, and regularly check and record food, refrigeration, and dish-machine temperatures to support kitchen safety and resident satisfaction.
Build positive relationships with residents, guests, and team members.
