About The Position

The Wedding Banquet Captain leads event execution at Wedgewood Weddings & Events, coordinating setups, vendors, event staff, and timelines to ensure smooth, memorable celebrations. The role mentors and motivates staff, anticipates and resolves challenges, addresses guest concerns, and maintains health, safety, and cleanliness standards. The captain is a visible hospitality representative who helps deliver excellent service to couples and guests. This position requires regular availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as shifts longer than eight hours and workweeks exceeding 40 hours. Physical duties include lifting chairs, moving tables, and assisting with banquet setup and teardown.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or in a similar hospitality leadership role.
Ability to manage setups, client interactions, changing timelines, and team leadership.
Strong drive to create excellent experiences and exceed guest expectations.
Attention to detail and aesthetics.
Proven leadership skills and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including shifts longer than eight hours and workweeks exceeding 40 hours.
Ability to lift chairs, move tables, and assist with banquet setup and teardown.
