Wedding Banquet Captain
About The Position
Wedgewood Weddings & Events is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead event execution and help create smooth, memorable celebrations for couples and guests. The role oversees event setup, vendor coordination, staff direction, and timelines, while mentoring team members, troubleshooting issues, and resolving guest concerns. The Banquet Captain also upholds health, safety, and cleanliness standards. This position requires hospitality leadership experience, ideally with weddings and events, along with strong multitasking, attention to detail, and a proactive, hands-on approach. Physical duties include lifting chairs, moving tables, and assisting with banquet setup and tear-down. Regular availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts is required, as are shifts longer than eight hours and workweeks exceeding 40 hours.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or in a similar hospitality leadership role; wedding and event experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage setups, client interactions, changing timelines, and team leadership simultaneously.
- Strong drive to create excellent experiences and exceed guest expectations.
- Attention to detail and aesthetics when preparing event setups.
- Proven leadership skills and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to lift chairs, move tables, and assist with banquet setup and tear-down.
- Regular availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Availability for shifts longer than eight hours and workweeks exceeding 40 hours.
