Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Website and Social Media and Partnerships Coordinator - Department of Internal Medicine at its Detroit campus location. Job Purpose: The Website and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Department, and in creating, managing, and curating an engaging and authentic social presence for the Department and its residency and fellowship programs. This role involves developing and creating relevant and engaging content across social media platforms, social listening and fostering interactions with our audience to promote programs awareness and positive public image. The Website and Social Media Coordinator will work directly with content producers across the Department to ensure cohesive and effective communication across all digital channels. In addition, the coordinator is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating the department’s website and related web pages, working closely with all divisions to gather, organize, and ensure the accuracy of departmental information and content. The position collaborates directly with content creators and stakeholders across the Department to ensure consistent, effective communication and branding across all digital channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, New Media, Communications, or a related field
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Intermediate (3 to 4 years job-related experience)
  • Working understanding of social media management and content creation strategies for various social platforms.
  • Knowledge of social media campaign management, assessment and listening tools.
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video) in a proactive and impactful way.
  • Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Curious and eager to learn new skills as social trends evolve, ensuring branded content is relevant for each channel.
  • Collaborative and able to work with cross-functional teams to maximize content creation and promotion with various campus partners.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and curate engaging content for social media platforms. Collaborates with teams to ensure all content aligns with brand voice/vision/campaign. Coordinate with department’s residency and fellowship programs.
  • Develop and maintain the department website and its related pages; coordinate with all divisions for information, and Department leadership
  • Engage with relevant audiences to build following and increase residents and fellow’s enrollment; monitor and report on social media conversations and trends.
  • Track, report, analyze social media campaigns to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Participate in the training of other communicators on effective use of social media.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
