The Water/Wastewater Process Design Engineer applies advanced engineering principles and process design expertise to plan, analyze, and design municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities. The role leads process engineering tasks throughout project development, including treatment process evaluation, hydraulic and process modeling, equipment sizing and selection, and preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents. Working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, regulators, and stakeholders, the engineer develops sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective solutions to complex treatment challenges while meeting regulatory requirements and project objectives. The position provides technical leadership, supports quality delivery of infrastructure projects, mentors junior staff, and builds expertise in water and wastewater treatment and emerging process technologies. The hybrid role operates in office and field environments. It routinely uses standard office equipment and may involve occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, or bodies of water, depending on project requirements. Physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, and hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. The role may occasionally require operating a company vehicle and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 35 pounds. Successful completion of applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks is required.
