Water/Wastewater Design Engineer
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking a career-minded engineer interested in advancement to join its growing Water/Wastewater engineering practice. The engineer will assist with design work by applying knowledge of relevant design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes; handling multiple design projects; and developing, analyzing, and documenting critical design elements. The selected candidate will join an established team working on water main and water distribution designs, large vault designs, flow monitoring, development reviews, comprehensive water and sewer plans, water and wastewater treatment, and pump station projects. The role provides engineering evaluation and design services with adequate supervision, supporting project teams and customer satisfaction while delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. Immigration sponsorship or support is unavailable, except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.
Responsibilities
- Perform alternative studies.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to complete assigned tasks.
- Perform design computations.
- Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools.
- Assist with developing project quantities for construction cost estimates.
- Assist in preparing engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
