About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a career-minded engineer interested in advancement to join its growing Water/Wastewater consulting engineering practice. The engineer will assist with design work using knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes; manage multiple design projects simultaneously; and develop, analyze, and document critical design elements.

The selected candidate will join an established engineering team working on water main and distribution designs, large vault designs, flow monitoring, development reviews, comprehensive water and sewer plans, water and wastewater treatment, and pump station projects. The position provides engineering evaluation and design services under adequate supervision, supporting the project team and customer satisfaction while delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. Immigration sponsorship or support is unavailable except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.

Compensation is $40.00–$45.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. JMT is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with more than 2,800 professionals and provides multidisciplinary services to public agencies and private clients throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct alternative studies.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to complete assigned work.
• Perform design computations.
• Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools.
• Assist with developing project quantities for construction cost estimates.
• Assist in preparing engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
• Coordinate with internal team members to complete projects by established deadlines and quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
