The mission of the Waste Education and Outreach team is to inform, engage, and empower Edmontonians to fully participate in their City’s waste system. This position supports the planning, delivery and evaluation of community outreach for priority projects under the City of Edmonton’s 25-Year Waste Strategy. Reporting to the Program Lead, Waste Outreach, this role will be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of door-to-door outreach programs. While the Program Lead is responsible for managing the overall strategy of outreach programs, this position oversees and coordinates the program’s day-to-day program activities, leading a team of Waste Outreach Educators, including recruitment, training, proactive team culture development, and performance mentorship. The Coordinator also models excellent customer care when engaging residents in conversation during doorstep visits or outreach events and collaborates closely with internal partners, residents, and property managers. Finally, the program relies on our Coordinators to guide the gathering and sharing of critical program data to inform strategic decisions made by the Waste Services branch.
