About The Position

The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for recruitment of clients to the Veteran Wellness Center through outreach to community partners including veteran-service organizations, multi-service organizations, the Veterans Administration, and other local community partners. The Outreach Coordinator will also participate in peer-to-peer communication, presentations, and other outreach mediums as needed. Recruitment will focus on reaching veterans and their family members, and first responders can be served at the Veteran Wellness Center. The Outreach Coordinator will oversee Volunteers, and Interns to assist in achieving enrollment goals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in, outreach and marketing activities and knowledge of social service delivery.
  • Prior experience within the military community and/or veteran administrative organizations.
  • Demonstrated internship experience in working with student and academia population.
  • Business management, project management skills required.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outgoing, pleasant, professional manner; the ability to create and maintain contacts in the community; and clearly articulate mission and goals of the Veteran Wellness Center.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
  • Driver’s License with clear record.
  • Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
  • Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or Communications Degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, evaluating, and implementing community outreach and associated programs related to the Endeavors Wellness Center delivery of quality services.
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with external stakeholders, as well as federal, state, and local agencies to understand concerns and gather information for drafting recommendations to improve the delivery of community services.
  • Promoting dialogue about Veteran and First Responder Wellness, policies, and programs by supporting the coordination of forums, community meetings, and other special engagements.
  • Advising Directors on interpreting, developing, and analyzing policy and program activities related to stakeholder engagement and the challenges faced by individuals and employers as it relates to Community Wellness, and Veteran matters.
  • Representing Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center on interagency working groups and at stakeholder engagements.
  • Researching and analyzing gaps, needs, and goals of veteran and military community
  • Facilitation weekly referral and outreach meetings with intake and community partners.
  • Representing Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center to interested agencies, organizations, and community groups on community outreach and prevention/intervention through information sharing and creating partnerships.
  • Devising approaches to work with agencies, organizations, and community groups and address issues/problems that impact outreach.
  • Surveying the needs/perceptions of ALL greater Alamo communities and service organizations to measure attitudes regarding Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center collaboration and outreach strategies, with the criminal justice system.
  • In collaboration with Marketing developing targeted/specialized communication and information-sharing strategies to facilitate effective relationships and address negative attitudes/perceptions, as appropriate.
  • Prepare outreach and community involvement reports for the programs in behavioral health department.
  • Manage the outreach budget.
  • Disseminating information regarding prevention/intervention programs and encouraging the use of best practices.
  • Initiating, developing, and conducting special events, workshops, seminars, and other meetings to educate, inform, and stimulate community program participation.
  • Identifying and educating stakeholders and agencies about resources, such as grant funding opportunities, training, and technical assistance related to community-based programs and prevention/intervention initiatives.
  • Assisting in performing program analysis and evaluation to evaluate overall outreach program effectiveness.
  • Adheres to internal controls established and performs other duties as assigned
