About The Position
As a warehouse selector on Wegmans’ distribution team, you will select products accurately and efficiently for Wegmans stores, using attention to detail and teamwork to support exceptional service. The role involves building safe, efficient pallets that minimize product damage during transportation and maximize trailer space. Work may involve overnight shifts scheduled as four 10-hour shifts per week. Frozen positions receive an additional $2.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to lift 20–25 pounds on average and more than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently.
- May work in and be exposed to cold temperatures.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect.
Responsibilities
- Build product pallets safely and efficiently to minimize transportation damage and maximize trailer space.
- Safely operate equipment needed for the job, which may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect.
- Perform order audits to check accuracy and quality.
- Maintain knowledge of quality standards, specifications, and requirements for all products.
- Communicate daily quality issues to operations management through reports and other necessary communication.
- Maintain the cold chain for loads with temperature requirements.
