About The Position

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious individual who enjoys working independently to join our team as a Warehouse Teammate/Delivery Driver. This role involves both warehouse operations and driving responsibilities to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver.
  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years while employed.
  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles.
  • Knowledge of, ability to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Ability to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stocking and maintaining the warehouse; picking, documenting, and packing customer orders.
  • Handling shipping discrepancies and completing necessary documentation for customer shipments.
  • Loading and unloading trucks, and operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Informing supervisors of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective merchandise.
  • Ensuring security and controls are in place to protect company assets.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards and completing assigned safety and compliance training.
  • Operating trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Loading trucks with merchandise for delivery, securing the load properly, and ensuring necessary equipment for unloading is available.
  • Understanding shipping documents, ensuring order accuracy, and delivering correct merchandise to customers.
  • Obtaining signatures for all delivered merchandise and collecting outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries.
  • Resolving shipping discrepancies with customers at the delivery site.
  • Loading trucks with merchandise picked up at vendor locations, returned by customers, or purchased from other wholesalers.
  • Providing sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
  • Inspecting the truck and required parts for safe operating condition before departure and keeping the truck clean.
  • Advising management of any mechanical problems with the truck and completing the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when applicable.
  • Removing keys from the truck at the end of the workday and storing them in the approved location.
