Hajoca Corporation is seeking a Warehouse Teammate & Delivery Driver for their Houma, LA location. Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy
  • Possess outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Know of, be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred

Responsibilities

  • Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stock and maintain the warehouse; pick, document, and pack customer orders.
  • Handle shipping discrepancies or forward appropriate paperwork.
  • Identify nonstock, special-order, and damaged material and store them in proper warehouse locations.
  • Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
  • Ensure security and controls are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, removing debris and reporting safety issues.
  • Assist co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered, securing the load properly.
  • Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it where the receiving party wants it, obtaining a signature for all deliveries.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing the material.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Load the truck at other locations with merchandise (e.g., from vendors, customers, other wholesalers).
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts and accessories prior to departure, keeping the truck clean.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • At the end of the workday, remove keys from the truck and store them in the approved location.
