About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. The Little Rock, AR location is seeking a Warehouse Teammate/Delivery Driver. This role involves both warehouse duties such as receiving, stocking, picking, and packing orders, as well as delivery responsibilities. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and enjoys working independently. Requirements

  • Ability to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver.
  • Able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years while employed.
  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles, especially commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Ability to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Ability to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
  • Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders.
  • Handling shipping discrepancies and forwarding appropriate paperwork.
  • Identifying nonstock, special-order, and damaged material and storing them in proper locations.
  • Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Loading and unloading trucks, operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Informing supervisors of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
  • Ensuring security and controls are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, including removing debris.
  • Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Operating trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Loading the truck with Hajoca merchandise for delivery, ensuring proper securing of the load.
  • Understanding shipping documents and having accurate directions to delivery destinations.
  • Reviewing shipping documentation and ensuring order accuracy.
  • Unloading correct merchandise from the truck and placing it as requested by the customer.
  • Obtaining legible signatures for all merchandise delivered.
  • Collecting and securing outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries.
  • Working with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies.
  • Loading the truck with merchandise from other locations (vendor pickups, customer returns, purchases from other wholesalers).
  • Providing sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
  • Inspecting the truck and required parts/accessories for safe operating condition prior to departure.
  • Keeping the truck clean.
  • Advising management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Completing the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report for vehicles over 10,001 lbs. GVWR if a defect or deficiency is found.
  • Removing keys from the truck at the end of the workday and storing them in the approved location.
