About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of their respective outlet, and provides professional leadership and direction to all related personnel. Warehouse Supervisors will ensure that all area’s meet the operation’s specifications and commitment to quality, as well as maintaining a safe, clean, and properly stocked outlet. Assists management in providing support to create an environment that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, learning, customer satisfaction and high standards of service. Ensures stands are fully prepared for events. Utilizes staff effectively to manage workload, achieve production, and provide quality services to customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse setting required, preferably in a fast-paced stadium, venue, or event environment.
  • Experience working with tight event schedules, setup and teardown, vendors, and flexible shifts is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self motivation, and organization skills required.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines and objectives.
  • Requires the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret general business information.
  • Requires the ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees using correct English and good voice quality that is conversational and professional.
  • Requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, subordinates, vendors, other departments, customers and the general public.
  • Requires the ability to apply basic math concepts; calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, portions, percentages, and volume.
  • Requires the ability to apply and understand general written and/or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize work and pay attention to detail.
  • Requires good analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Must be able to utilize a computer.
  • Requires the ability to use a variety of office machines and food service equipment.
  • Must have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.
  • Must be able to operate food service equipment (to include but not limited to) , impinger ovens, beverage dispensing equipment, as well as cash register and office equipment such as computers, copy machines, and fax machines.
  • Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and have not been issued more than three moving violations or have been responsible for more than three accidents (or any combination of more than three thereof during the past 12-month period).
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and will be required to provide proof of driving eligibility upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Food Handler certificate from the County of San Diego preferred.
  • This position may involve operating a company vehicle and/or golf cart on university or company property.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the supervision of the part-time staff within the Warehouse.
  • Ensure that the Operations Management Team is aware of the activities occurring within the Warehouse.
  • Advise the Warehouse Manager with any employee members’ performance issues.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
  • Aid in ensuring all weekly orders are received and effectively stored and practice proper product rotation.
  • Ensure established standards of cleanliness and sanitation are being met, as well as execute daily and weekly cleaning projects.
  • Ensure the Line is stocked, clean, and ready for business at all times.
  • Follow-through with daily features and standard menu items with precision and efficiency at all times, keeping in mind both food cost and perceived value.
  • Ensure opening and/or closing duties are completed efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Help with daily and weekly equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Helps Preload all stands with food products and beverages.
  • Preloads all stands with products including, but not limited to beer, wine, seltzers, CO2, and all food and service ware.
  • Assists management with the operations staff, which includes coaching of employees, setting work priorities, and directing work assignments to ensure effective operations.
  • May assist in planning and preparing work schedules and assigning employees to specific duties and tasks
  • Assists management in daily unit operations to ensure that proper procedures and guidelines are in place and followed for provision of quality products and services.
  • Resolves internal and external customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Supervises and trains employees engaged in food preparation, cash registers, taking of inventories, keg management, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions.
  • Develops and maintains working relationships with customers, coworkers, vendors, student organizations, faculty, staff, and university personnel.
  • Inventories beer and wine and orders if necessary.
  • Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.
  • Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs. This may include opening, mid-day, and closing shifts, as well as night shifts, weekends, and holidays throughout the year.
  • Other duties as assigned.
