About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist Lead – SD performs a full range of duties in the receipt, stow, and issue of material. This role ensures items being stowed meet MIL-STD 129N requirements and requires proficiency in the use of anti-static devices. The position also involves providing COSIS/Shelf-Life inspection as required by the depot contract agreement, performing kitting functions, and providing cost estimates for kit preparation. Additionally, the Warehouse Specialist Lead provides daily work assignments to other storage personnel. Employees assigned to the Second Shift receive a shift differential of $1.00 per hour, and Lead differential pay of $2.50 per hour is also provided.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
5 years general experience.
3 years specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, quality assurance, or related areas.
Knowledge of supply inspection/examination procedures for material.
Knowledge of inventory research techniques for unmarked/defective material requiring identification.
Proficient in the use of Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated distribution systems used at site.
Familiar with MIL-STD 129.
Proficient with Microsoft Suite including, Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software.
Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
Ability to multi-task efficiently, works in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and has a strong attention for detail.
Position requires U.S. Citizenship.
Requires a US Government background check.
Must be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance (if required).

Nice To Haves

2 years of college or technical school preferred (may substitute experience for education on a year-by-year basis).

Responsibilities

Performs a full range of duties in the receipt, stow, and issue of material.
Ensures items being stowed meet MIL-STD 129N requirements.
Proficient in the use of anti-static devices.
Provides COSIS/Shelf-Life inspection as required in depot contract agreement.
Performs kitting functions and provides cost estimates for preparation of kits.
Provides daily work assignments to other storage personnel assigned to work center.
Assists the Supervisor in scheduling work, responsible for instructing and aiding a group of employees.
Performs evaluations and assists the supervisor in maintaining a smooth flow of work and maintains records.
May be temporarily called upon to act on behalf of a supervisor in cases of emergency or absence.
Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material per DLA regulations.
Conducts inventory/causative research, reads supply manuals, specifications, drawings, and prints.
Loads material on and off skids, pallets, and stands.
Conducts Shelf-Life and COSIS actions as necessary and conducts material coordination duties for special programs as required.
Prepares labels as required.
Prepares reports as required.
Operates tools and equipment in performance of duties.
Receives data from and inputs data to DSS and other automated supply systems in performance of duties.
Operates Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as assigned and holds appropriate license.
Counts, weighs, records data, applies tags and labels.
Makes preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
