About The Position

Roadtex Transportation, acquired by Echo Global Logistics in 2022, specializes in transporting time- and temperature-sensitive products through a nationwide network of temperature-controlled facilities. The Warehouse Shift Supervisor assists the Warehouse Manager in leading warehouse operations and employees, coordinating freight and trailer movements, meeting customer service needs, and maintaining safe, efficient operations. Bilingual English/Spanish ability is very strongly preferred because of the workforce composition and the need for clear communication across shifts.

Requirements

At least 3 years leading a logistics team or comparable experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with data entry and inventory software and systems.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish ability is very strongly preferred.
An associate degree or similar discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Warehouse Manager with hiring and training new employees.
Schedule and oversee warehouse staff, and conduct timely, constructive performance evaluations.
Lead and develop employees; provide training, monitor performance, coach and counsel employees, and document performance-related matters.
Remain accessible to all areas of the dock and yard.
Plan daily staffing needs to support timely, damage-free freight pickups and deliveries.
Coordinate trailer and freight movement with Linehaul/dispatch at various terminals and dock employees.
Develop a plan for distributing break loads to achieve goals.
Monitor service freight and ensure Linehaul compliance.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and appointments.
Perform required administrative functions and gather information for reporting; monitor actual performance data.
Communicate with Account Managers to meet customer and company needs.
Ensure over, short, and damaged (OS&D) freight is identified and processed properly.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and implement company policy.
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures; perform other duties as required.
Train employees on safety protocols and ensure adherence to them.
Conduct safety audits and inspections, identify hazards, and mitigate risks.
Provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is used correctly.
Maintain accessible emergency exits and equipment.
Enforce proper lifting techniques and ergonomics.
Report and document accidents or incidents immediately.
Conduct safety meetings and drills, ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards, and promote a culture where employees raise safety concerns.
