About The Position

Stew Leonard’s is hiring a seasonal Warehouse Receiver. The role is responsible for timely and accurate receipt of products and placement in designated warehouse areas. The receiver unloads and breaks down deliveries, checks products and quantities against purchase orders, and verifies that items are undamaged and meet applicable COOL laws. The season runs until the end of December. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The department is colder than room temperature, and receiving dock temperatures may also be cold because doors open frequently for deliveries. Noise may be above normal due to the HVAC system. The role involves frequent walking, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, squatting, and reaching, with a maximum lift of 110 pounds.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to safely operate a forklift, reach truck, walkie rider, and other equipment used in the receiving department.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Good organizational skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills.
• Honesty, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and flexibility.
• Able to perform frequent walking, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, squatting, and reaching, with a maximum lift of 110 pounds.

• Previous experience is a plus, but is not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Review the dock schedule to identify expected deliveries for the day.
• Review invoices and purchase orders before unloading trucks to confirm they match.
• Unload and break down incoming deliveries; inspect products for compliance with COOL laws, damage, and accurate quantities against purchase orders.
• Complete purchase orders and return them to the receiving office.
• Complete manifests for items received or loaded and return them to the receiving office.
• Keep work areas clean and clear of obstructions.
• Complete other projects as needed.
• Greet customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude.
• Collaborate with team members and assist where needed to support store operations.
• Help improve and maintain store efficiency, and represent the store’s S.T.E.W. values in interactions with customers and team members.
