About The Position

Concordance Healthcare Solutions is hiring a full-time second-shift Operations Supervisor for its Kalamazoo, Michigan distribution center. The role provides leadership and direction for the Shipping Department, overseeing merchandise handling and staff to support efficient, safe, and productive operations and exceed customer expectations. The supervisor organizes the department’s daily workload, directs employees, and helps ensure freight and packages reach their destinations on time. The position also provides hands-on support for daily shipping work and leads the team by example. The supervisor oversees staff hiring, onboarding and training, development, management, and twice-yearly performance reviews. The role is responsible for shipping productivity, quality, freight handling, customer service, and safety; developing and implementing team goals; maintaining an orderly work area and cleaning schedule; communicating unsafe conditions; and addressing reported warehouse equipment issues. Daily shipping duties may include building and consolidating customer shipment pallets, organizing and staging the department, and preparing orders for shipment with UPS, FedEx, and other carriers. Other duties may be assigned. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience, at least three years of related experience, and the ability to lift, pull, or carry at least 70 pounds and stand and walk throughout the shift, often for more than eight hours. Candidates must pass a post-offer background check and drug screening. The role is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and is open until filled.

Requirements

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least three years of related experience.
Strong customer service, problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships effectively.
Self-starter with a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to lift, pull, or carry at least 70 pounds and stand and walk for the entire shift, often over eight hours, with or without accommodation.
Successful completion of a post-offer background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of warehouse operations or distribution experience is preferred.
Previous experience supervising, training, developing, and providing direction to staff is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of Voice Pick and VAI systems, or similar warehouse management or operating systems, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage the Shipping Department at the Kalamazoo location.
Organize daily departmental workload and direct employees accordingly.
Help ensure freight and packages are moved to their destinations on time.
Participate in interviewing and hiring staff; oversee training and ongoing staff development.
Manage staff and complete performance management reviews for assigned employees twice a year.
Oversee and directly participate in shipping productivity, quality, freight handling, customer service, and safety.
Ensure merchandise is handled promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
Develop and implement team goals.
Assist with daily shipping functions, including building and consolidating customer shipment pallets, organizing and staging the department, and preparing orders for shipment with UPS, FedEx, and other carriers.
Maintain a clean and orderly department, assign general custodial tasks, and establish a cleaning schedule.
Promote a healthy and safe work environment and immediately communicate unsafe conditions.
Maintain warehouse equipment for employee safety and address reported mechanical issues.
Foster and maintain a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.
Perform other duties as assigned.
