About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Maintenance Technician in Hagerstown, Maryland. The role performs maintenance and troubleshooting on warehouse equipment and plant utility systems, carries out routine forklift repairs and preventive maintenance, maintains batteries and related equipment, and keeps repair records. The technician may also train operations associates on safety, quality, sanitation, and efficient use of packaging or warehouse equipment. The schedule is B shift: Thursday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., plus every other Wednesday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The position requires willingness to work overtime and weekends. Pay is $30.00 per hour, with overtime at $45.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of plant or warehouse general maintenance experience, including electrical and mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
• Ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder.
• Good organizational, communication, and planning skills.
• Experience operating forklift equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Equipment certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting functions on warehouse equipment independently and effectively.
• Maintain and troubleshoot plant utility systems, including fire protection, water, electrical, air, and vacuum systems, as applicable.
• Understand and use shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering, and plant reporting systems.
• Perform routine forklift repairs.
• Maintain batteries and related equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain repair records.
• If required, train operations associates on safety, quality, sanitation, and efficiency of packaging or warehouse equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and work overtime as needed.
