About The Position

The Warehouse Lead oversees efficient warehouse operations and ensures accurate, timely handling of supplies and materials for internal and external distribution. The role coordinates the retrieval, packaging, and dispatch of items and supports inventory transportation, sorting, and replenishment while maintaining inventory accuracy, productivity, and safety.

The position serves as a first point of contact for warehouse staff and helps maintain department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy. Although it has no direct supervisory responsibilities, the Lead may assist the reporting supervisor or manager on duty with task assignments, break timing, validating mid-level transactions, and escalating disciplinary or performance matters. The Lead also supports onboarding, mentoring, training needs, team communication, and compliance with company policies and applicable requirements.

The role is primarily onsite in Tehachapi, California. Occasional travel to or work from other Race offices or off-site locations may be required.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license, subject to successful DMV verification.
• Forklift certification required.
• One to two years of related warehouse operations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of shipping procedures, inventory control practices, and proper handling methods.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, the primary workplace language.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and teleconferencing applications.
• Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software.
• Adhere to team procedures and guidelines and the policies in the Race Communications Employee Handbook.

Responsibilities

• Transport incoming and outgoing materials using appropriate tools or vehicles.
• Inspect materials and products for quality.
• Sort and store materials according to inventory procedures.
• Conduct physical inventory counts and replenish stock.
• Pick, pack, and ship materials and products; process shipping packages and returned merchandise.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment and assist with warehouse sanitation.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Act as the first point of contact for warehouse staff and maintain knowledge of shipping, receiving, and packing room activities.
• Help warehouse staff meet department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
• Perform required administrative tasks, including reports and correspondence.
• Assist with inventory control processes and maintain working knowledge of operating systems in the work area.
• Follow safety programs and complete required safety training.
• Support identification of training needs and professional development; help onboard and mentor new team members.
• Support team members, foster open communication, help address minor conflicts, and escalate issues as needed.
• Help ensure team members have necessary tools and resources, track progress toward goals, and provide status updates as requested.
• Assist with task assignments, timing of shift breaks, validation of mid-level transactions, and escalation of disciplinary or performance matters on behalf of the reporting supervisor or manager on duty.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
