About The Position

Macy's is hiring a part-time Warehouse Associate in Joppa. In this hands-on role, the colleague helps create a seamless, customer-focused experience by receiving, storing, picking, packing, sorting, and shipping merchandise. The role requires careful, timely handling of merchandise, accurate processing, and attention to safety while keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and running smoothly. Colleagues are expected to contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace and support teammates. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position may involve various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

No education or experience required.
Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing customer expectations and needs.
Proficiency using computers and handheld technology.
Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, switch between multiple tasks, and work various shifts.
Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods, up to 12 hours, excluding breaks.
Ability to frequently use computers and handheld electronic equipment.
Ability to reach above eye level, crouch, kneel, stoop, push, and pull.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50–75 pounds.
Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Ability to hear and see safety/emergency alarms and Power Industrial Truck (PIT) warning devices.

Responsibilities

Load and unload cartons and merchandise from delivery trucks, conveyor systems, and other locations.
Lift, carry, push, and pull packages on a continuous and repetitive basis while sorting and organizing merchandise.
Complete processing, receiving, and shipping activities on time and in accordance with productivity standards.
Accurately enter data using PCs, handheld computers, radio frequency equipment, or similar devices, and learn area-specific functions across warehouse and proprietary systems.
Perform job duties safely and promptly report accidents or hazards affecting safe operations to the safety committee.
Prepare for shifts by following the dress code, attending start-ups, checking that the work area is ready, and staying informed about daily goals.
Work quickly and accurately, handle merchandise with care, and pack customer orders neatly.
Build positive working relationships by greeting, assisting, and supporting coworkers, including new teammates.
At the end of shifts, tidy the workstation, return equipment, replenish supplies, and recognize coworkers who contributed to the day's work.
Foster acceptance and respect in interactions with colleagues, customers, and communities.
