Seasonal Warehouse Associate, Portland - Full Time
About The Position
As a Warehouse Associate, you will help create a customer-focused experience by receiving, storing, picking, packing, sorting, and shipping merchandise. You will handle items carefully, work safely, and help keep the warehouse clean, organized, and running smoothly. The role also emphasizes teamwork, respectful interactions, accurate processing, and completing work to productivity standards so orders are delivered on time. The position involves loading and unloading merchandise, moving packages, completing processing and shipping activities, and entering data using computers and handheld or radio-frequency devices. You will follow safety procedures, report hazards, prepare your work area at the start of shifts, prioritize accurate and careful handling of customer orders, support coworkers, and tidy your workstation and return equipment at the end of shifts. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. No education or experience is required. The work has substantial physical demands, including repetitive lifting and moving items weighing up to 50–75 pounds, and requires frequent use of computers and handheld equipment.
Requirements

- Ability to work various shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment and changing tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Proficiency using computers and handheld technology.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors, and to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Ability to frequently use computers and handheld electronic equipment.
- Ability to reach above eye level, crouch, kneel, stoop, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50–75 pounds.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to hear and see safety and emergency alarms and Power Industrial Truck warning devices.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload cartons and merchandise from delivery trucks, conveyor systems, and other locations.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull packages on a continuous and repetitive basis while sorting and organizing them.
- Complete processing, receiving, and shipping activities on time and in accordance with productivity standards.
- Accurately enter data using PCs, handheld computers, radio-frequency equipment, or similar devices, and learn area-specific warehouse and proprietary systems.
- Perform job functions safely and promptly report accidents or safety hazards affecting safe operation.
- Prepare for each shift by following the dress code, attending start-ups, checking the work area, and staying informed about daily goals.
- Work quickly and accurately, handle merchandise with care, and pack customer orders neatly.
- Build respectful, supportive relationships with coworkers, help new teammates, and foster an inclusive workplace.
- At the end of the shift, tidy the workstation, return equipment, replenish supplies, and recognize colleagues who contributed to the day's work.
