About The Position

Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is hiring Warehouse Associates for its Spokane Distribution Center in Spokane, Washington. Associates perform material handling and warehousing tasks involved in receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts, materials, equipment, and supplies. The role uses handheld scanners to access and update information for receiving, counting, and order processing. Employees may be trained to operate order pickers, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and overhead hoists; not all positions require equipment operation. Other tasks include reporting defects and repair needs, constructing wooden shipping containers with pneumatic or power tools, applying paint and rust preventative, housekeeping, and other duties assigned by management. The position has several possible schedules, with shift availability varying week to week. Candidates begin when a position on their requested shift becomes available, which may involve a sizable waiting period. Listed shifts include second, third, fourth, and fifth shifts, with first shift also potentially becoming available. Starting pay is $20.55 per hour, with a $1 shift premium where applicable; the listed second through fifth shifts pay $21.55 per hour. Overtime is available and may sometimes be mandatory. Candidates must have at least one year of warehouse experience and at least twelve months of longevity in previous employment. The work requires consistent use of required PPE and safety procedures, reliable attendance, accuracy, teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform basic math and clerical tasks. Employees work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures and must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, walk approximately 10 to 12 miles per day, and repeatedly sit, stand, squat, and bend throughout a shift, with or without reasonable accommodation. Applicants who meet the qualifications may receive a phone screening, followed by an online assessment and an interview. Hiring is contingent on successful completion of background and drug screenings and a post-offer medical questionnaire with clearance from Corporate Medical. Employment-based visa sponsorship and relocation reimbursement are not offered for this position.
