Seasonal Warehouse Associate, Hayward - Part Time
About The Position
As a Warehouse Colleague, you will help create a seamless, customer-focused experience by receiving, storing, picking, packing, sorting, and shipping merchandise. You will handle items with care, work accurately and safely, and help keep the warehouse clean, organized, and running smoothly. The role also emphasizes teamwork and fostering a positive, respectful workplace. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; on lower-volume days, the start time may be 8:15 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Requirements
- No education or experience required.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, switch between multiple tasks, and work various shifts.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing customer expectations and needs.
- Proficiency using computers and handheld technology.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors, and to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload cartons and merchandise from delivery trucks, conveyor systems, and other equipment.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull packages continuously and repetitively while sorting and organizing merchandise.
- Complete processing, receiving, and shipping activities on time and in accordance with productivity standards.
- Enter data accurately using PCs, handheld computers, radio frequency equipment, and similar devices; learn warehouse and proprietary systems.
- Perform job functions safely and promptly report accidents or safety hazards to the safety committee.
- Wear a name badge, follow the dress code, attend start-up meetings, prepare the work area, and stay informed about daily goals.
- Work with speed and accuracy, handle merchandise carefully, and pack customer orders neatly.
- Support a hospitable workplace by greeting colleagues, building trust, helping new teammates, and supporting coworkers.
- At the end of the shift, tidy the workstation, return equipment, replenish supplies, and recognize colleagues' contributions.
- Foster acceptance and respect and build authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
