About The Position

Ferguson is hiring a Warehouse Pipe Yard Associate for its Waterworks location in Bakersfield, California. The role involves working both in a warehouse and outdoors in a pipe yard, where most of the product is stored. Outdoor work takes place year-round in all weather conditions and temperatures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with overtime as needed. The position may also include driver duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
General computer skills for basic data entry.
Ability to carry objects over 50 pounds by hand and 50 pounds or more using equipment.
A valid state-issued license is required.
Must complete pre-employment drug and background screening.
Must comply with safety requirements, including wearing a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Background in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory, is preferred.
Forklift operator experience is strongly preferred.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

Safely operate stand-up forklifts, including order selectors or cherry pickers, and sit-down forklifts to pull and prepare outbound customer orders.
Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and large piping.
Work outdoors year-round in a pipe yard in all weather conditions.
Accurately and promptly receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming material.
Receive and store inventory effectively.
Follow safety regulations, including correctly using personal protective equipment (PPE) and wearing a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds.
May perform driver duties and responsibilities.
