About The Position

Ferguson is hiring a Warehouse Pipe Yard Associate for its Waterworks location in Salem, Oregon. The role combines warehouse work with outdoor work in a pipe yard, where most of the product is stored. The associate works outdoors year-round and is exposed to all weather conditions and temperatures. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some overtime as needed. Starting pay is $20 per hour and may be higher based on experience; the listed pay range is $17.41–$26.11 per hour. The role is eligible for a bonus or incentive plan. The associate safely operates stand-up and sit-down forklifts to prepare outbound customer orders, handles pallets and large piping, and receives, verifies, stages, stocks, and stores inventory. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment, including a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds. Pre-employment drug and background screening are required. Requirements

General computer skills for basic data entry.
Ability to carry objects up to 50 pounds by hand and 50 pounds or more using equipment.
Adherence to safety regulations and correct use of required personal protective equipment.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug and background screening.

Nice To Haves

Background in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Forklift operator experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate stand-up forklifts (order selector/cherry picker) and sit-down forklifts to pull and prepare outbound customer orders.
Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and large piping.
Work outdoors year-round in a pipe yard in all weather conditions.
Accurately and promptly receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming material.
Receive and store inventory effectively.
Follow safety regulations and use personal protective equipment correctly, including a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds.
