About The Position

Ferguson is hiring a Warehouse Pipe Yard Associate for its Waterworks location in Lubbock, Texas. The role involves working both in a warehouse and outdoors in a pipe yard, where most products are stored and associates are exposed to all weather conditions and temperatures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some overtime as needed. The associate safely operates stand-up and sit-down forklifts to prepare customer orders, handles pallets and large piping, and receives, verifies, stages, stocks, and stores inventory. The role requires following safety regulations and using personal protective equipment, including a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds. Applicants must be able to carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds by hand and 50 pounds or more using equipment. Pre-employment drug and background screening is required.

Requirements

Ability to carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds by hand and 50 pounds or more using equipment.
General computer skills for basic data entry.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to complete pre-employment drug and background screening.

Nice To Haves

Background in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory.
Forklift operator experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a stand-up forklift (order selector/cherry picker) and sit-down forklift to pull and prepare outbound customer orders.
Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and large piping.
Work outdoors year-round in a pipe yard in all weather conditions.
Accurately and promptly receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming material.
Receive and store inventory effectively.
Follow safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment and a safety harness.
