About The Position

Global Industrial is an industry leader that provides private-label and brand-name industrial equipment and supplies to businesses throughout North America. The Warehouse Associate/Generalist handles customer orders and merchandise in a warehouse environment, using scanning equipment and powered material-handling equipment to pick, verify, stage, pack, and load products. The role also receives deliveries, checks inventory, and reports discrepancies or damage. The position requires frequent lifting and continuous standing, walking, pulling, and bending in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating a gas forklift and electric pallet jack.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment.
• At least 1 year of experience operating an electric pallet jack.
• At least 1 year of experience using an RF scanner.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand, walk, pull, and bend continuously throughout the day in a fast-paced environment.
• Organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use various packing supplies to protect products on pallets for shipping.
• Reading and comprehension skills.
• Computer exposure.
• Strong initiative and self-motivation.
• Strong verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use an RF scanner to identify products to move, gather, or distribute for customer orders.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place them on pallets, shelves, or conveyor belts for routing to packing or shipping.
• Operate a riding powered pallet jack and/or forklift to move products.
• Receive processed orders, verify their accuracy, and scan them into the computer system.
• Secure products to pallets using banding in accordance with company standards.
• Use machinery to shrink-wrap products on pallets.
• Operate a forklift and pallet jack to stage or load products as needed.
• Load orders safely and efficiently.
• Receive daily merchandise deliveries into the warehouse.
• Unload trucks and verify inventory.
• Record and report discrepancies or damage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
