About The Position

The Warehouse Associate/Backroom Processor works in the Production department and reports to the Store Manager. This full-time role sorts and inspects merchandise, identifies products and directs them to the appropriate department, and collects and safely transports merchandise from the distribution center. The employee follows Salvation Army policies and applicable government safety regulations, maintains confidentiality as needed, and performs other duties assigned by the Store Manager or a designated representative. Overtime requires written supervisor approval, with the supervisor’s initials recorded beside the overtime hours on the timecard.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competency in the relevant skill area through verifiable training and/or experience.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive-motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sort products efficiently and properly according to Salvation Army policy.
• Inspect products for defects and damage as part of quality assurance.
• Identify products and direct them to the proper department for processing.
• Collect merchandise from the distribution center and safely transport materials.
• Follow safety measures established by Salvation Army policy and government regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality as needed for program operations.
• Obtain written supervisor approval for overtime and ensure the supervisor’s initials appear beside overtime hours on the timecard.
• Perform other written or verbal duties assigned by the Store Manager or a designated representative.
