About The Position

Emser Tile is seeking an experienced Warehouse Associate 3 (Picker) for its Eastern Distribution Center in Suffolk, Virginia. This hourly, full-time position is responsible for picking line orders and staging them for shipping. The role requires regular, predictable attendance and a predetermined workday; additional hours may be requested based on business needs. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary. There are no direct reports.

The successful candidate will work in a distribution center environment and use warehouse procedures and equipment to pick and stage products accurately. Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a picking position.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to work in a distribution center environment that may be cold in winter and hot in summer, and in a loud work environment.
• Ability to lift weights up to 100+ pounds.
• Ability to see and hear, use hands and arms, work on a computer for long periods, and bend and kneel.
• Ability to perform basic math, including piece-to-square-foot calculations.
• Knowledge of database and query functions.
• Ability to accurately read and respond to non-verbal communication.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, at all organizational levels and with customers.
• Leadership skills including critical thinking, decision-making, and listening.
• Ability to build trust with internal and external customers through influence, relationship-building, composure, and open communication.
• Ability to thrive in a busy environment while remaining highly organized, goal-oriented, results-driven, and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Pick all line orders and build pallets to the required standard.
• Stage product on the shipping dock according to the shipping schedule.
• Use an RF scanner to verify product accuracy.
• Verify shade numbers by checking labels.
• Create new license plates when needed and place them properly on pallets.
• Use and submit a breakage sheet daily.
• Read item labels and identify product types.
• Navigate the warehouse effectively.

• Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
• Perform other tasks as required or assigned.
