About The Position

Emser Tile is hiring an experienced Warehouse Associate 3 (Picker) for its Eastern Distribution Center in Suffolk, Virginia. This hourly, full-time role is based at a local distribution center and is responsible for picking line orders and staging them for shipment. The role requires accurate product handling, use of an RF scanner, and adherence to shipping schedules and warehouse procedures. Regular, predictable attendance is essential. The employee will work a predetermined workday and may be asked to work additional time based on business needs. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary. The position has no direct reports.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a picking position.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to work in a distribution center environment that may be cold in winter and hot in summer, and in a loud environment.
• Ability to lift more than 100 pounds.
• Ability to see and hear, use hands and arms, work at a computer for extended periods, and bend and kneel.
• Thrive in a busy environment; be highly organized, goal-oriented, results-driven, and customer-focused.
• Knowledge of database and query functions.
• Ability to accurately read and respond to non-verbal communication.
• Leadership skills, including critical thinking, decision-making, and listening.
• Ability to build trust with internal and external customers through influence, relationship building, composure, and open communication.
• Strong basic math skills, including piece-to-square-foot calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with people at all organizational levels and with customers.
• Regular, predictable attendance.

• Bilingual Spanish ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pick all line orders and build pallets to standard.
• Stage products on the shipping dock according to the shipping schedule.
• Use an RF scanner to ensure product accuracy.
• Verify labels to match shade numbers accurately.
• Create new license plates when needed and place them properly on pallets.
• Use and submit a breakage sheet daily.
• Read item labels and identify product types.
• Navigate the warehouse effectively.

• Complete other tasks as required or assigned.
