About The Position

Levy at Churchill Downs is hiring seasonal, part-time Waiters/Waitresses for its Fall Racing Meet. The position takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests while providing professional service and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. Team members who successfully complete the Fall Racing Meet will be invited to return for the Spring Racing Meet, which includes the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. The advertised pay rate is $16.67 per hour.

Responsibilities

Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established service steps.
Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards; follow up with guests about additional needs or requests.
Understand menu items and ingredients, advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, note preferences, and demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
Communicate effectively and work well with guests and staff, remaining flexible and patient.
Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints to a supervisor.
Set up the dining room before service and restore it afterward; keep the area clean and neat while meeting sanitation standards.
Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
Work with staff from other departments to perform duties during special events and functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
