DISHWASHER - Churchill Downs
About The Position
Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment and utensils in orderly and sanitary condition. Levy at Churchill Downs has opportunity for seasonal, part-time employees to join our team for our Fall Racing Meet. Team members that successfully complete the Fall Racing Meet will be invited to return for our Spring Racing Meet in April, which includes the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. Churchill Downs is home of the Kentucky Derby. The Kentucky Derby has been described by Forbes as one of the "Greatest Bucket-list Sporting Events" in America. Every year, on the first Saturday in May, over 150,000 of guests gather under the Twin Spires at Churchill Downs to create lifelong memories with their friends and family. Our Fall Racing Meet lasts from October 25th - November 29th and includes Thanksgiving and Black Friday Our Spring Racing Meet lasts from April 24th – June 27th and will include the Kentucky Oaks, the Kentucky Derby, and Downs After Dark Come and be a part of the most exciting two minutes in sports!
Requirements
- Must be able to work seasonal, part-time hours.
- Must be available for the Fall Racing Meet (October 25th - November 29th) and potentially the Spring Racing Meet (April 24th – June 27th).
Responsibilities
- Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment.
- Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Washes pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures.
- Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures.
- Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
- Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
- Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
- Removes trash and places it in designated containers.
- Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Helps load and unload supplies and product.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
