About The Position

Performs cashiering duties, including making cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, giving change, counting cash receipts and completing cash reports. May also perform general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in the preparation, service and dining room facilities. Levy at Churchill Downs has opportunity for seasonal, part-time employees to join our team for our Fall Racing Meet. Team members that successfully complete the Fall Racing Meet will be invited to return for our Spring Racing Meet in April, which includes the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby.

Requirements

Must be able to perform sales transactions in a timely fashion.
Must be able to enter all sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
Must be able to make change, accept declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment; issue receipts to customers.
Must be able to follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
Must be able to interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Must be responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
Must be able to observe customer purchases in the cafe line and differentiate between standard portions.
Must be able to replenish condiments, coffee, other beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
Must be able to keep pastry case stocked.
Must ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
Must ensure compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
