About The Position

The Waiter/Waitress takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests. The role includes providing warm, prompt guest service, following established service steps, maintaining food-safety and sanitation standards, and coordinating with back-of-house and other department staff. The position also supports dining-room setup and cleanliness, cash handling, and service at special events and functions.

Responsibilities

Promptly and warmly greet dining-room guests and take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service.
Deliver food promptly and professionally, maintain safe food-handling and sanitation standards, and follow up with guests about additional needs.
Understand menu items and ingredients; advise guests on food and drink combinations, accommodate reasonable requests, note preferences, and demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
Communicate effectively and patiently with guests and staff and get along well with others.
Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
Handle personal or medical information shared by guests with sensitivity and confidentiality.
Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
Set up the dining room before and after service and keep the area clean and neat while meeting sanitation standards.
Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
Work with staff from other departments to perform duties during special events and functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
